Marley's TLC
December 2005
Please thank everyone on my behalf for their generous donations to the Iraq TLC boxes. We had $139.00 in contributions. I sent out 5 TLC Holiday boxes to 5 California units. Contributions that would be helpful for our January boxes would be used cd's or dvd's or paperback books or small board games. (One corporal who received a box specifically requested these items --- he's in a group of 65 males and they are looking for things to keep them occupied in their "down time." ) Also, any kind of Valentine's Day stuff would be great since I hope the to get the January boxes out to Iraq in time for Valentines Day. Sounds like even a Valentine's Day card with a note of support would be very welcome. (This is what AnySoldier.com states on their web site on their list of things to send:
This is about SUPPORT, not just STUFF! A LETTER, from you, your children, the kids at church or school, is THE BEST THING to send. A show of personal support is far better than spending a bunch of money that you don't have.
September 2005
Joan sent packages to two groups in August. She suggested that we contribute to the Katrina relief in September and several people contributed to Marley's TLC as well.
June 2005
Captain Marley's unit will be coming home to Colorado soon. Joan has found new units to adopt. More is coming.We will still call our project Marley's TLC.
